Dina McBride
Pro of the Month
January, 2014

January 2014 was the first ever issue of TENNIS CLUB BUSINESS. Our Pro of the Month was Dina McBride.

We wrote: Dina McBride, a USPTA 1 member of the Top Seed Tennis Academy team, teaches tennis at The Paseo Club in Valencia, CA.

With over 20 years of experience both playing and coaching, Dina has been with Top Seed Tennis Academy for over 10 years. Recognized as one of the top players in Southern California, she has won numerous tournaments throughout the state, which includes the singles title in the 2012 USTA national 40 Hard Court Championships in La Jolla. In college, Dina played #1 at USD and holds the record along with Billie Jean King at The Ojai Tournament for 'Most Consecutive Singles Titles won'.

Today

For many years, Dina and her husband Desi were the power duo of teaching professionals at The Paseo Club. Desi was also the Director of Tennis at this large country club.

Recently, they made a rather dramatic change and decided to move from hot inland Southern California to the beautiful coastal town of Malibu. On September 1 this year, both started working at the prestigious Malibu Racquet Club and, as Dina put it, they are enjoying meeting the new members.

The Paseo Club management announced on their Facebook page:

Dear Paseo Club Members:

It is with a very heavy heart that we bid farewell to two Paseo Club icons, Desi and Dina McBride, who have decided to begin a new chapter in their lives.

For 16 years, the McBrides, along with their three children, Parker, Jordyn and Chloe, have been the face of tennis not only at The Paseo Club, but throughout Santa Clarita and Southern California.

Adult Leagues, Junior Tennis, Summer Camps and Color Wars only begin to define the dedication and contributions they have made over the years-- and the tremendous legacy they will leave behind.

Please join us over these next two weeks in saying goodbye to the McBride family-- and wishing them the very best on their new endeavor.

From all of us at The Paseo Club, the level of our gratitude can only be surpassed by the size of the shoes we now must fill.

Michele Krause
Pro of the Month
May, 2014

We wrote: What does a "normal" week look like for Michele Krause, the Cardio Tennis Manager for the Tennis Industry Association? It's starting off flying from her hometown Sarasota, FL, to Houston, TX, for 2 days of Tennis Channel filming at the USPTA headquarters. Then off to Cleveland, OH and a short drive to Warrensville Heights for Cardio Tennis certifying a fitness facility that doesn't even have tennis courts: ATP Evolution.

Then a long drive to Cincinnati for more training and certifications. After a quick flight home for 2 days of rest it's off to Long Beach, CA, for learning and training at a 2-day educational TRX Summit. Only someone as fit and as truly dedicated as Michele Krause can sustain this kind of travel stress.
