Jensen
Better known
as the mother of former professional players Luke and Murphy
Jensen, Patricia is one of the most influential personality in
American tennis. All four of her children, including twin daughters
Rebecca and Rachel were playing professionally at one point.
In an article by Kylie Klotzbach on the WTCA website she's quoted
as saying "One summer, I drove 90,000 miles across the country
to get all four of my children to each of their tournaments."

Patricia is also
known as the coordinator monitoring ball people in Atlanta. From
January to May she's coordinating ballkids for Georgia Tech's
Men's Tennis Team, lovingly named the 'Golden Retrievers' by
Head Coach Kenny Thorne. And in July she's busy coordinating
all ball people at the BB&T Atlanta Open.
Walid Fattah,
Kourts CEO & Co-founder, says "Patricia is an intrinsic
part of the Kourts family, with and incredible passion for the
sport and a solid understanding of our mission to grow participation."
After learning
that Patricia Jensen is a tireless promoter for Kourts and the
force behind many of the most prominent Kourts club installations,
we were able to catch up with her while driving home from observing
a junior match. |

TCB: Patricia,
how did you get involved with Kourts?
PJ: You know, all the latest and greatest in tennis is always
pitched to me. Three different court booking systems were introduced
to me in July of last year alone. I checked them out and they
all had 'holes' in them. Then a friend of mine introduced me
to Walid Fattah and Ryan Sweeney of Kourts. They showed me their
system and I couldn't believe how complete it is. |
TCB: And you jumped
right in promoting Kourts?
PJ: Yes. That was 10 months ago and today I feel so rewarded
that my name is on a Kourts business card, to be honest. I'm
able to introduce Kourts to all my friends and contacts. And
there are many! I just love to show it to all the people that
contributed so much to my family's and my love of the game. |
|
TCB: What do you
like most about the company?
PJ: Oh, the sincerity of all Kourts people. They are all so professional.
I am rewarded by celebrating tennis daily by sharing the benefits
of Kourts to each and every person that was/is in my/our tennis
life. |

TCB: Where are
some of the Kourts installations you facilitated?
PJ: Where do I start? There are so many.
How about the
Academia Sánchez-Casal in Naples, Florida?
Founder Emilio Sánchez Vicario offered to help Kourts
to be introduced in Spain and China. Gotta like that.
Then there is
Alan Schwartz's Midtown Athletic Club in Chicago. Elite Squad
Tennis Club
in Kansas City. |
And The Westside Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York.
My son Luke has
increased participation and membership at The Westside Tennis
Club because of Kourts!
And then there
is the Peachtree Tennis Center in Atlanta. And so many more.
TCB: What do
you say to club owners when you contact them?
PJ: When I call clubs and they have another system installed
I give them my phone number and suggest to call me if they run
into some problems. I compare them changing to Kourts this way
(and I know I'm dating myself, but here it goes): It's almost
like the transition from a Jack Kramer wooden racquet to the
famous HEAD graphite racquet. Remember? |
TCB: Patricia,
do you have some final words for our readers?
PJ: Some people dream of success while the Kourts team is working
hard at it every single day. Working hard at having a great Kourts
day for tennis!
TCB: Thank you,
Patricia Jensen. |
