Questions for Katalin Marosi

1. Where were you born?
I was born in Gheorgheni, Romania.

2. When did you move to Hungary and why?
We moved in 1989. The WHY is a complicated historical issue. We are actually Hungarians because the part of Romania where we lived used to belong to Hungary a century ago.

3. When did you start playing tennis? Did someone teach you?
I was 6 and yes, a tennis coach taught me.

4. When did you start teaching tennis? Have you been certified for teaching?
I have PTR and USPTA coaching certificates. I started coaching in 2014.

5. How has playing on the pro tour for 20 years helped you transitioning to teaching tennis?
I can certainly use all the experience from the tour. What helps me the most is what I learned from the coaches that I worked with. Luckily, I had the chance to work with some excellent professionals.

6. When was Kiskut Tenisz Klub founded?
It was founded in 2016.

7. Is it a private or a public facility?
It's a private club.

8. How many indoor / outdoor courts do you have and what surface are these?
We have 6 clay outdoor and 3 are covered for winter time. Also, there is a 5-clay court indoor complex under construction. Probably ready by the end of 2018.

Kiskut Tenisz Klub is located in Székesfehérvár, about 40 miles southwest of Budapest.

9. Are there other teaching pro's at Kiskut?
Yes, we have 6 pros at the club under Tennis Director Gábor Galambos.

10. Does the club have members? How many?
We have no members. Anyone can come and play in the club and there is a sort of membership but no advantage comes with that so it's basically the same being or not being a member at the moment.

11. Do you teach adults and children?
Mainly children and adolescents.

12. What are your programs?
I'm building one right now. I am creating a program selecting talented 6 and 7 years old kids and providing a competitive practice program for them to give them the chance to become competitors.

13. What are your challenges at this facility?
Build up competitive tennis in the club.

14. What tennis racquet do you use? What string?
I use a Babolat Tour Drive, with Solinco tour bite soft string (1,20).

Thank you, Katalin.
