Anne grew up in Charleston, WV, and started playing tennis at just five years old because her friends teased her that she couldn’t play. By the time she was nine years old she was #29 in the U.S. in the 12’s. Anne’s father, Pete, was captain of the WVU basketball team in 1955 and he shared Anne’s passion and drive for sports.

At 14 Anne did not have a coach during the winter and was only able to practice indoors 3 hours a week. Nick Bollettieri watched her play in the National 16’s and offered her a scholarship to train in Florida at what is now the infamous IMG Academy. After two and a half years in Bradenton, FL, she then went on to college at USC where she played #2 as a freshman. Anne finished the year as an undefeated All American and USC won the National Championship. Anne also won 3 USTA gold balls in one day at The U.S. Amateur Clay Courts in Pittsburgh, PA, winning the singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

In 1987, after two years at USC, Anne turned pro and played eight years on the circuit reaching #19 in the world in singles and #9 in the world in doubles. She won one singles title and eight doubles titles with six different partners, including Chris Evert.

After her pro career on the court, Anne performed color commentary for several professional tennis tournaments, including the 1988 and 1989 USA Network U.S. Open. Anne also appeared in numerous television commercials for Reebok, Avia, Michelob Beer and Carefree Gum. In addition to her time as a commentator and commercial work, Anne spent 16 years in her second career in the luxury goods arena as a Director of Wholesale for Cartier and Jaeger-LeCoultre watches.

Tennis came swinging back into her life three years ago after having lunch with Nick Bollettieri. Bollettieri reignited her love for the game and Anne is now producing a feature documentary about Bollettieri for Showtime, slated to premiere in late 2017. (titled 'Love Means Zero' - see below)

In 2016, Anne was inducted into the USTA Mid West Hall of Fame, a distinct honor. She has been the emcee at several tennis exhibitions at The Greenbrier Resort with Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Venus Williams, Jim Courier and Andy Roddick. She is a producing partner for a new online interactive reading platform called REED (Read, Experience, Explore and Dream). The REED platform allows you to collect points, maps, photos and music to enhance the reader’s imagination and reading engagement.

'Loves Means Zero': Film Review

Jason Kohn's doc is a portrait of famous tennis coach Nick Bollettieri, who trained greats such as Andre Agassi. (The Hollywood Reporter)

A Svengali of the tennis world gets his close-up in the diabolically well-titled Love Means Zero, an on-its-toes documentary about the legendary and/or notorious tennis teacher and coach Nick Bollettieri.

Showtime has a winner in Jason Kohn's tight and observant documentary, at the heart of which is a man so unusual and blunt-spoken that its appeal should extend beyond sports fans.

The man behind (at least part of the time) an all-star list of champions that includes Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, Jim Courier, Venus and Serena Williams, Boris Becker, Mary Pierce and many others, Bollettieri talks like a goodfella, doesn't know from sentimentality, has the skin of a lizard, refuses to countenance regrets and bluntly states that, “If you ask me right now to give you the names of my eight wives, I couldn't do it.”

Beverly Hills Tennis Club -
Under the radar since 1929

When Russel Simpson retired after 17 years as Tennis Director at the prestigious Beverly Hills Tennis Club, Anne White was offered the job and she started November 1, 2017. The club may well be the best kept secret in Los Angeles. Hidden away on North Maple Drive, the club features 5 hard courts, a gym, outdoor pool, all for less than 200 members. It features an equity membership as well as a social membership.

Anne says, "We have wonderful members here, low key, not pretentious. I'm honored to be part of the tradition here."

Two more tennis professionals work at BHTC: Kelly Gullett and Dacho Pavlicic. "We love to help people and improve their game."

Anne is very proud of her idea of creating a documentary about Nick Bollettieri's Life. With the help of BHTC member and film producer / writer Jill Mazursky and Nick's support she saw her idea produced and embraced with great enthusiasm at the Toronto Film Festival. The film is funded by Showtime and will air during the 2018 Wimbledon Championships.

Members of the Beverly Hills Tennis Club were excited when Anne announced that Nick Bollettieri would come to hold a clinic and speak to them December 11. The event was a complete success and caused BHTC member Eric Fugier to post on Facebook: "Thank you, Anne. You already have accomplished so much in such a short time, the energy has changed."
