tough at Warner Tennis Center
in Woodland Hills
by Rich Neher
After years of uncertainty about the future
of Warner Tennis Center in Woodland Hills, a once thriving tennis
club that had 26 courts in its heydays, and ended up with 12
courts on top of a parking garage under LA Fitness ownership,
the club is once again filled with the sound of bouncing tennis
balls. Tim Schnaible, the club's owner since February 2014, has
turned it around and is happy to see the courts so busy.
Tim, who owns and runs Match Tough Tennis
Academy out of Warner Tennis Center, Balboa Tennis Center (Encino),
and Lindero Country Club (Agoura Hills), has been in the junior
development trenches for the past two decades and is regarded
as one of top junior development coaches in the country. Tim
brings to the court over 30 years of playing and coaching experience.
He has personally coached hundreds of sectionally and nationally
ranked juniors including winners at Kalamazoo, Easter Bowl, and
Winter Supernationals. Tim was the exclusive coach to ATP Top-20
Pro Sam Querrey from the ages of 10-16 years old and was recently
featured on the Tennis Channel's "Sam Querrey -Tennisography".
In addition Tim has been a USTA Zonals Coach, USTA CTC Coach,
College Coach and High School Coach. Tim has been a member of
the USPTA since 1999 and a graduate of the USTA's High Performance
Match Tough Tennis Academy provides year
round tennis programs for every level of tennis player from 5
year old beginners to USTA National Champions to current ATP
Tour professionals. The Academy has a Pro-Staff of 3 more tennis
professionals, Troy Aiken, Reggie Drew and John Quijano, providing
a complete schedule of junior programs and offering match play
opportunities at the highest levels, as well as Summer camps
for all levels and for High Performance juniors.

Tim's vision is to produce the best a tennis club and an academy
can offer to junior and adult tennis players. His progressive
thinking goes beyond teaching and offering courts and events.
Lately he has signed up to become a representative of a brand
new collection of tennis apparel: BONES Original Tennis Wear.
Tim says, "We are taking pre-orders for all Bones Original
items. This is an amazing clothing line made in Brazil, the shirts
are incredibly light and breathable, and there is a large number
of designs to choose from. We are the exclusive reps for Southern
California." The Bones line will be subject to a separate
LA Tennis Examiner article shortly.
Tim gave Sam such a solid foundation for
his game and prepared Sam for the next step in tennis. Tim kept
the training and coaching fun, while instilling excellent habits
to build on for the future. Tim has the big picture in mind and
understands how to customize the coaching for all types of players!
From top to bottom, the whole junior experience with Tim was
extremely positive and both Sam and Tim achieved the maximum

Cal junior. Her technique is better than most of the kids I've
seen. Tim keeps his lessons fun and engaging while getting the
best out of his student. I truly feel he is the best coach out
there, and we are extremely lucky to have found him.

I have employed Jack's concepts to my
own game with huge results this past year, reaching the final
of the 45 and over Grass Court National doubles. I have also
employed the concepts to my students with great success.
